The girl dreamt of the moon last night. Its huge, glittering beauty beaming golden light down on her small face, her eyes looking up in loving amazement at its splendour, its size in the night. The moon filled the sky, it was a Super Moon, a gift to all the girl’s senses. As she gazed up in wonder she thought she saw a woman’s shadow on the moon, a woman standing strong , holding a spear in her hand, posed for protest. It was a breath taking moment, an out of body experience which filled the girl with warmth. Who was this woman in the moon ? She looked so strong, so ready for protest, so ready to fight. The girl felt protected by her vision of the woman. There she was above the girl, in this huge sky, within this huge moon looking down on the girl’s small brightness. She felt seen for the first time, her body vibrated with excitement and joy.
In her dream the girl walked in a beautiful wilderness. All around her grew ferns and flowers of many colours. Irises, orchids, roses, jasmine, frangipanis. The night air filled with their fragrance, shining under the moon light, giving the girl such happiness, such joy as she moved past them, smelling their perfume. Dragonflies flew everywhere, their spectacular multi coloured transparent wings fluttering swiftly. Lace on the night air, rainbows that fly. As the girl walked on she found a path which led to the ocean. She could smell the salt, hear the waves long before she saw them, rolling silver in the moon light. She let her feet sink into the wet sand, kicking and skipping around in the waves. She sat still for a while on the beach as a warm and gentle wind blew across her face. The girl was an observer, always a watcher. She needed to see, to feel beauty as it was revealed to her in her dream. She watched as the waves began to rise toward her from deep blue water under a moon that wanted her to know, in every part of her that she was not alone. To know this dream lay inside her soul, for her journey ahead. She looked up. In that moment there existed complete connection. She was not separate from the sky, the moon, the wilderness, or the wild woman with her spear. She was one with them all. The woman in the moon was the fierce spirit of the girl, the wilderness surrounding her bathed in moonlight, her soul’s being. The moon and the ocean were her protectors giving a constant source of inspiration, never leaving her. They all lived within her guiding her, warming her life with the light of resilience and hope. She had a long way to go, she would need them all. Clenching her spear in loving power she would stand strong to fight for her life. She would make her soul’s wilderness her home, finding solace within, when there was none elsewhere. The stars shone in the firmament for her. Some fell toward her that night. All she was in her childhood showed up for her in her dream that night. Her internal world was safe, no matter what may happen. Her dream showed her so.
